Context & Objectives

Recently, the progress of deep learning has made it possible to generate high-qualitative images based on prompts via online tools such as MidJourney or Dall-e. These opportunities span a wide range of sectors, including marketing, gaming and media. The project aims to explore the potentiality of Generative AI to help the creative process in the luxury fashion industry. Emerton Data team is collaborating on this project with both data & AI experts and graphists which are the target users.

Outcome
  • The experiments performed and user feedback has shown that Generative AI can boost the creative while preserving the strong artisanal creative DNA
  • It also shows that, to our knowledge, current existing tools such as MidJourney are not answering to the advanced creative needs that are by essence iterative

Our approach

Step 1a – Map the end-to-end creative process in the fashion industry and understand the approach to creation, which has a strong artisanal component

Step 1b – List and perform concrete experiments with the graphists – using advanced Generative AI tools such as Stable Diffusion XL, ControlNet, Dreambooth and fine-tuning technics – to define the ad hoc methodologies and assess the feasibility

Step 2 – Define an efficient user experience and design mockups to ensure a smooth adoption and insuring integration into the creativity process

Step 3 – Build the web application that support the creativity process. Onboard the graphists to start the adoption and iterate
