Based on this observation, large companies among the GAFAMs (together with other tech/telecom companies) are investing heavily in AI R&D in France. The result is a strong orientation of the state of the art towards tech applications.
We are therefore doubly convinced that more targeted collaborative academic-business initiatives are relevant, and that it is necessary to create more of them around industrial AI issues. This is why Emerton Data targets scientific excellence via several partnerships with world-class researchers from INRIA, CNRS, and ENS Paris.
